In 1990, Rodel came
back to the Philippines. He was confident of a comeback.
He totally re-packaged himself so differently; no one could tell he
was the next-door boy-image Rodel Naval 10 years ago. Long haired
and ruggedly stylish with his face still boyish and ethereally ageless.
Some critic scribes raised eyebrows, mercilessly pulled him down;
he was even branded as already "rusty" and futile ... yet
Rodel proved his mettle.
In his radio, TV, press
interviews and guestings, he established to all and sundry that he
got what it takes. Offers from recording companies came in silver
platters but Rodel decided to produce his own album -- both in English
and Tagalog, several of which he composed himself.
